Overview of the features and controls in the Driver App of the Shuttles Platform including how to contact a customer and use navigation.

What the Driver App Is

The Driver App of the Quickride Shuttle platform is where shuttle drivers manage and complete shuttle rides for customers.

Ride List Screen

The Ride List screen is the default screen when logging in to the Driver App.

Ride List Screen With Rides Assigned

When the driver has one or more rides assigned, the Ride List has a ride listing for each customer with the following information and controls, from top to bottom and left to right:

1. Status: The customer’s status -

  • At station: when the customer is waiting to be picked up at the station’s main location, as defined in Station Settings.

  • Waiting for Pickup: when the customer is waiting to be picked up at any location other than the station’s main location.

  • On Shuttle: when the customer is on board the shuttle.

2. Customer Name: The customer’s name.

3. Notes: Any notes about the ride.

4. Number of Passengers: The total number of passengers associated with this ride.

5. Pickup Location: The address the customer needs to be picked up from.

6. Pickup Mileage: The distance the driver currently is from the pickup location;
this updates in real-time as the driver moves/ drives.

7. Drop-off Location: The address the customer needs to be dropped at.

8. Drop-off Mileage: The distance the driver currently is from the drop-off location;

this updates in real-time as the driver moves/ drives.

9. Associate Phone: The phone number of the dispatcher who created the ride in the

Command Center is linked here.

10. Associate: The name of the dispatcher who created the ride in the Command

Center.

11. ETA: The time the driver is estimated to arrive at a location.

  • This is a pickup ETA, or the driver’s estimated time of arrival to the pickup location, when the customer hasn’t been picked up.

  • This a drop-off ETA, or the driver’s estimated time of arrival to the drop-off location, when the customer has been picked up.

12. On Shuttle: Shows whether the customer is on the shuttle or not.

13. Go button: Launches the Navigation screen.

14. Contact Passenger: The customer’s phone number is linked here.

Contacting an Associate or Customer

If the driver needs to, they can call either the dispatcher who created the ride or the customer directly. To do so, the driver taps either the phone icon next to the Associate name or Contact Passenger The options Phone and Text appear. Selecting one will open either the phone dialer or the text messages app with the phone number already inputted. From there, the driver can make a call or send a text/ SMS message.

Ride List Screen With No Rides Assigned

When the driver has no rides assigned the Ride List shows:

  1. Navigate Back to Station Button: Launches the Navigation screen and gives the driver a map and directions back to the station (or the option to get directions back to one of the locations defined in Addresses).

Navigation Screen

When the driver taps Go on the customer ride listing or the Navigate Back to Station button, the Navigation screen launches. The Navigation screen is powered by MapBox, a third party provider. It gives the driver a suggested best driving route and turn-by-turn audio and visual directions.
